The ‘I’m Worth it’ Negotiation Exercise

This is a very simple exercise:  spend 5 minutes convincing someone (recruit a friend or just write in a journal) why you are ‘worth it’.

Think of a situation where you may need to negotiate – a job interview, a work commission, negotiating with a venue – anything where you want your own way!
Then, think of why they would want to give you what you want – because you are uniquely talented, maybe, or maybe because your temperament is just what the project needs.

Take it for granted that whatever it is, you are worth it.  Now explain why.

Now, use this as ammunition when you next negotiate!

PS – Never use the ‘I need it’ approach as a negotiation tactic – use this instead.
